- Insurance: Does the entertainment company you are considering carry liability as well as workman’s comp insurance? If not, you or your company is being put at risk. Also make sure you can be added as additionally insured on their insurance certificate.
- Safety: Does the company take safety seriously? Are their inflatable games and rides inspected by the state, and do they do pre-event inspections before every event to make sure your guests have the time of their lives… safely? Is the company up to date on the latest state regulations and safety standards?
- Experience: See if they will let you attend a similar event to the one you are planning. In this way you will be able to see first hand that the company is capable of meeting your needs. Many companies claim to be able to handle “any size or type of event”, but that is not always the case. Make sure the company has many years of experience in the entertainment and inflatable industry. Some companies try to pass off “years in business” as “years of experience” even if their business has been in a different industry until recently.
- Testimonials and References: Ask for references or testimonial letters from satisfied customers that had the same type of event you are having. Any reputable entertainment company should be able to give you this information upon request.
- Support Staff: It is important that you are taken care of before the event as well as during it. The success of your special day depends on the professionalism and good business sense of the inflatable/entertainment company. Is the entertainment company you are considering able to handle all of the upfront legwork to ensure a successful event?
- Site Survey: Does the entertainment company you are considering come to your event location and do a check for adequate size, proper layout, electricity requirements, and parking requirements?
- Event Promotion: How will the company you are considering for your entertainment needs help promote your event and help raise attendance levels?
- Tour of Facility and Offices: Can you see first hand the type of operation the company runs?
- Large Selection & Variety for all Ages: Look at what inventory the company has to offer. Do they have a large list of items to choose from to ensure your event is customized to fit your guests tastes as well as your budget. Make sure you aren’t dealing with a “cookie cutter” company that pushes their limited stock on you in the form of packages.
- Year Round Full Service Company: One of the most important things to consider is this; will I be able to rely on the services of this company for more than just the picnic or yearly festival?
